Forum Focuses on Improved Collaboration between ACEC National and State Organizations

ACEC President Linda Bauer Darr, Chair Manish Kothari, and Chair-elect Mitch Simpler met with State Organization leaders outside Washington, D.C. Wednesday to further explore opportunities for greater collaboration between the national office and its Member Organizations.

Moderated by ACEC/Virginia Executive Director Nancy Israel, the Mid-Atlantic Leadership Forum included leaders from ACEC/Delaware, Maryland, Metro Washington, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Attendees also included ACEC Treasurer Stephanie Hachem and Vice Chair Art Barrett.

“We have to have more engagement with our partners in the states if we are going to make ACEC as great an organization as it can be,” said Kothari.

Chair-elect Simpler called the forum part of his mission. “I’m a firm believer in getting the national office and the states together more to collaborate on important issues than what was done in the past,” he said.

Bauer-Darr briefed leaders on current ACEC priorities and strongly encouraged greater input from State Organization leaders. “We intend to increase our prominence and influence and contributions from all our state leaders are critical to this effort,” she said.
