October 8 Online Class Outlines How to Comply With DOD’s New Cyber Security Rules

On October 8, ACEC will present the online class New Cybersecurity Requirements Create Significant Responsibilities and Liabilities For Federal Contractors: What you Need to Know to Ensure Compliance.

Engineering firms contracting to the Department of Defense (DOD) could face significant penalties for non-compliance with DOD’s new Cyber Security Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework.

Failure to comply with CMMC rules can lead to serious consequences, including False Claims Act liability. Additionally, contractors face potential suspension and debarment for not complying with related DFARS regulations.

In the online class, Reggie Jones, chair of Fox Rothchild’s Federal Government Contracts and Procurement Practice, will explain how to implement effective information systems safeguarding measures consistent with the new CMMC framework. While the requirements may seem daunting and complicated at first, this program will break down DOD’s regulatory framework into easy-to-follow steps.
