ACEC Briefs Lawmakers on Project Delivery Recommendations

ACEC participated in a roundtable discussion on Tuesday on infrastructure project delivery, hosted by the Blue Dog Democrat coalition. 

WSP President of U.S. Advisory Services John Porcari (center) represented ACEC, sharing his experiences in project delivery as deputy secretary at the U.S. Department of Transportation and interim executive director of the Gateway Corporation. 

“There is clearly a drive and willingness to work together on project delivery improvements to achieve measurably better outcomes,” Porcari told Representatives Joe Cunningham (D-SC) and Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ), who led the briefing.

While implementation of the project delivery reforms and performance-based measures included in the FAST Act continues, some additional changes may be sought in the upcoming transportation reauthorization bill. 

ACEC provided a list of regulatory steps and statutory provisions for improving project delivery to the Blue Dog working group.
