ACEC Urges Congress to Approve Tax Extenders
ACEC President/CEO Linda Bauer Darr sent a letter to Congress today urging extension of a variety of tax provisions that expired in 2017 and 2018.
The expired provisions include the Section 179D energy-efficient commercial buildings tax deduction, as well as the production tax credit for certain renewable resources such as biomass and geothermal. Last February, Congress voted to reinstate these measures retroactively for 2017 but did not extend them for 2018.
ACEC supports multi-year extension of these tax provisions so that businesses can rely on them and plan effectively. The Council and coalition allies are asking Congress to include these measures in the next legislative vehicle.
