Bloomberg Government Releases Guidance on Federal Agencies and Coronavirus
Bloomberg Government has released an analysis that summarizes the response by various federal government agencies to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The attached PowerPoint presentation includes:
- Links to guidance issued thus far by federal agencies
- Opportunities released by federal agencies
- Virus-related spending that has already been disbursed by the federal government
- What to expect in the weeks ahead
Bloomberg Government warns that contractors should be aware that the situation is fluid, and that further guidance may be issued and legislation passed.
Highlights of the analysis include:
- The Office of Personnel Management has taken the lead on issuing instructions to agencies for telework policy and other operational procedures.
- Some agencies, such as the Pentagon, Homeland Security Department, and Small Business Administration, have issued guidance to government contractors
- The majority of Covid-19 related spending obligations, $32 million of $35 million, has been disbursed by the Health and Human Services Department.
- The Centers for Disease Control and Army have released opportunities to combat Coronaviruus that are currently available for bid.
- Contractors should monitor agency expectations regarding contract schedule and payment delays, facility closures, and shifting priorities to telework.
