With ballot counting and certification now complete, we are pleased to announce the results of the 2025-2027 National Officer elections. All nominees (below) were returned as Officers-Elect, with their terms beginning at our 2024 Spring Convention and Legislative Summit. Congratulations to our new National Officers-Elect!

2025-2026 Chair-elect and 2026-2027 Chair – Dan Larson, P.E. – Minnesota

Dan is Chairman and CEO of American Engineering Testing, Inc (AET), headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota. AET is a 100% employee-owned, multi-disciplined engineering firm serving clients nationwide and around the world from 21 offices in the Midwest and West. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota and is a licensed professional engineer in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Idaho, and Florida.

Dan started his career in structural engineering design and later focused his practice on forensic structural engineering, specifically building assessment, analysis, repair and restoration. He has been with AET since 1990, holding positions from department manager to President before being named CEO in 2016.

Dan is a graduate of ACEC’s Senior Executive Institute, Class 25.

 

2025-2027 Vice Chair – Andrew McCune, P.E. – Michigan

Andy began his career in the consulting engineering industry in 1987 as a graduate engineer.  Through the years, he has filled various roles; from project engineer to project manager to group manager to region manager, market segment manager, Chief Operating Officer and now Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Wade-Trim Group, Inc. These roles have given him the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients including municipalities, utility authorities, departments of transportation, industrial and commercial entities, energy companies and many more.  Andy draws from his 37 years of experience to guide the firm’s strategic focus and business performance. He is invested in continued development of the organization’s ability to be the best team in the business and to maintain a deep technical bench.

Andy holds a B.S. in Physics from the State University of New York at Fredonia, a B.S. In Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University, and an M.B.A from Wayne State University.

2025-2027 Vice Chair – Orhan Ilgaz Ulger, P.E. – Illinois

Orhan is a Professional Engineer registered in Illinois and Wisconsin. He has been in the industry for more than 30 years.  After working as a civil engineer at a local company in Chicago he and his partner started 2IM Group, LLC in 2005 where he has been working as Vice President since.  2IM Group is an eighty-person minority-owned firm specializing mainly in hydraulics, hydrology, modeling, roadway, aviation, environmental engineering, and rail.

Orhan has been involved with ACEC-IL since the inception of 2IM Group.  He served in several roles including committee member, committee chair, Board Member, Board Vice Chair, Board Chair, and National Director. He was involved in many liaison committees focused on solving industry issues.  At the ACEC National level, Orhan is a DEI&B Committee Leadership Paths Subgroup Member and Vice Chair of the Workforce Committee.

2025-2027 Vice Chair – Kurt Yoshii, PE, GE, ENV SP, CPSM, FSMPS – California

Kurt S. Yoshii, is a Principal Engineer at Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical & Environmental

Consultants, in Irvine, California, where he serves as their Corporate Geotechnical Business Development Discipline Leader. Mr. Yoshii holds a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and has over 30 years of experience in geotechnical engineering. He is a licensed Civil and Geotechnical Engineer in the State of California, as well as a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Colorado, Nevada, and Utah. In addition to his professional engineering licenses, Mr. Yoshii is also a certified Envision Sustainability Professional, a Certified Professional Services Marketer, and a Fellow of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).

At the ACEC National Level, Mr. Yoshii has served on the Nominations Committee and is a founding Executive Committee Member and current Vice-Chair for the Geoprofessionals Coalition. In his home state of California, Mr. Yoshii has served as the ACEC-California National Director and President, as well as President of the ACEC-California, Orange County Chapter. Mr. Yoshii has also served as President of the Asian American Architects/Engineers Association of Southern California and the President of the SMPS Orange County Chapter.
