This week, the Federal Agencies and Procurement Advocacy (FAPA) Committee met in Washington to review industry priorities and hear from key federal clients.
Among items discussed were implementing the A/E Design Fee that recently increased from 6% to 10%. The committee discussed the need to ensure its interpretation and understanding is standardized, for the benefit of the full industry. Additionally, the Committee met with Pete Perez, Chief of Engineering and Construction at the Army Corps of Engineers to review the progress ACEC and Corps are making on their A/E Partnering Playbook.
In addition, the Committee met with GSA, the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, US Fish and Wildlife and were briefed by analysts from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) on a report highlighting deferred maintenance challenges facing many federal agencies.
