Got an Infrastructure Question for the Democratic Candidates? Send it in by Thursday to be Included in ACEC-Hosted Forum

Got an Infrastructure Question for the Democratic Candidates? Send it in by Thursday to be Included in ACEC-Hosted Forum

ACEC has partnered with a diverse group of industry stakeholders to host a first-of-its-kind presidential candidate forum focused solely on the issue of infrastructure. The event—Moving America Forward: A Presidential Candidate Forum on Infrastructure, Jobs, and Building a Better America—is sponsored by United for Infrastructure (the organization that manages Infrastructure Week each year) and will take place on Sunday, February 16 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (the date and location was selected as the Nevada Democratic Caucus will take place later that week). C-SPAN is our media partner for the event and will broadcast and livestream to a national audience. Senator Amy Klobuchar and Mayor Pete Buttigieg have confirmed to participate and we expect more candidates to join before the event.

The forum will be moderated by reporters and editors at The Wall Street Journal who will ask questions collected by members of the host committee. This provides ACEC and our diverse membership a unique opportunity to have our industry’s voice heard by the leading candidates for the presidency.

United for Infrastructure has developed a Google Form to collect questions for the forum. Questions will be accepted until Thursday, February 13th. We encourage you to submit your questions for the candidates here.

Tips for Successful Questions:

The forum is a great opportunity to get ACEC’s name and message out to new audiences. To do that, it is important to begin your question with something like the following examples:

“As a professional engineer and ACEC member, I’d like to ask [Candidate name]…”

“As an engineering firm CEO employing XXXX voting Americans…”

“As the CEO of an engineering firm that works with the American Council of Engineering Companies…”

“Through my firm’s affiliation with the American Council of Engineering Companies, we’re kept up to date with the inadequate history of U.S. investment in infrastructure…”

“As an engineer and a business leader…”
