CASE Structural Engineer’s Guide to Fire Protection

CASE Fire Protection Committee

In recent years there has been a growing awareness that structural engineers need to become more involved in the design of the fire protection systems for the building structures that they engineer. This publication is intended for structural engineers with no prior experience or training in fire protection engineering. It is a comprehensive and concise treatment of prescriptive and performance-based methods for designing structural fire protection systems in an easy to understand format.

This document was developed by an ad hoc committee under the CASE Guidelines Committee that included participation from the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA), the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) and Arup Fire
