The purpose of Tool 6-2, Scope of Work for Engaging Subconsultants, is to provide structural engineers with sample scopes of work that cover the key scope issues to consider when hiring a sub-consultant. The tool will be used when a structural engineer is asked by the prime consultant or owner to provide input on sub-consultant selection and scope of work or when the structural engineer is required to retain the sub-consultant directly.
When the structural engineer retains these services directly, the following CASE Contracts are recommended:
- CASE Contract #3 – An Agreement Between Structural Engineer of Record and Consulting Design Professional for Services
- CASE Contract #10 – An Agreement Between Structural Engineer of Record and Geotechnical Engineer of Record
