Negotiating contracts is at the core of any firm’s risk selection and management practice. Willis A&E will provide a comprehensive overview on negotiating professional agreements by reviewing in detail certain “deal makers” and “deal breakers” all Design Professionals should consider when negotiating with their prospective clients. We will discuss Client Selection procedures as well as Go/No-Go project evaluation practices. We will consider varying approaches to different client and project types A&E’s face. The objective of this program is to help the Design Professional identify non-insurable and poor contract language and enhance their negotiation skills by using the contract review process as an opportunity to establish and manage expectations to mitigate their exposures to claims and client disputes.
