Passthrough Firm Owners: Online Class Will Demonstrate How to Get Full 20% Tax Deduction
Take full advantage of the new 20 percent tax deduction for A/E passthrough firm owners.
In the February 27 online class, The New 20% Passthrough Tax Deduction is Final: What You Need to Know to Claim Your Benefit, three CPAs will cover the key areas of the new law.
Created by the 2017 tax law, so-called “passthrough firms”—S corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietorships@mdash;now qualify for a new 20% tax deduction. ACEC advocacy was instrumental in the law’s final version which allows A/E firm owners full access to this tax deduction.
Stambaugh Ness’s Scott Hursh, Thomas Moul, and Jennifer Nelson will focus on:
- What qualifies as eligible business income
- Rules on reasonable compensation for owners
- Anti-abuse safeguards
- Aggregation rules for firms with multiple legal entities
